1988 60 HP Evinrude. This Wednesday I shall take the boat to the lake and slowly start breaking it in (since pistons & rings have been replaced). Are there any recommendations as far as the break in procedure ? keep it under ? throttle for next 10 ? 15 hours? I do not have any gauges, so how does one determine RPMs or any other power indicator?
Thanks,
Milo

i you had someone do the work follow there recommendations, if they are warranting the work. other wise no prolong running at any particular speed, after about 5 hours you can take it to wot for a brief periods. 10 hours is normal breakin. also double the oil mix, if mixing and not using the vro. if using the vro, it does not know the motor is being broken in. then mix your fuel 50-1 and the vro will add the rest.
