If you are mixing at a ratio of one pint of oil to six gallons of fuel its the right mix. But even an incorrect mix should not "oil up" the front of the engine. Bad reeds perhaps allowing excessive spit-back. Float levels set too high or needle and seat not sealing causing fuel to dribble out the carb making you think its oil?
