Re: Briggs outboards????

I got one last year and use it with an Old Town square stern canoe. Runs great and pushes the canoe with two people at around 11mph (GPS). I changed the oil this year and use a synthetic. Always starts and runs great. Only complaint is that it trolls a tad too fast 3.5 to 4mph for fishing, unless going against current in a river or something like that. Cure, I have an electric trolling motor on a side mount. Now I can get down to the 1.5mph for fishing.

Buckaroo,Ive heard B&S does not reccomend trolling with their motor due to possible overheating.I also heard the early motors had trouble with the revlimiter being defective<br />causing power loss.Probably solved by now.
