Hi folks.
The lower annode on my F100 hung loose.
One M6 screw had broken. The other was part way out, but seized. Despite a very careful application of torque, the remaining screw broke.
The screws are located fairly tight into the transom which makes it a bit difficult to drill out the screws with the motor on the boat.
I was wondering if I could just glue or screw the annode onto the transom since it is securely earthed to the outboard's tilt unit anyway. This electrical cable is the primary connection to the motor and not the mounting screws.
There's not really a lot of space to drill and tap 2 new holes either.
other's must have experienced similar broken screws. What is the usual fix?
The boat is moored in a fresh water river when not in use, but used in salt water.
