Replacing the water pipe on my 350 MAG, I was able to finally get to the junction on the engine side of the gimbal housing. Being as careful as possible, I still managed to break one of the studs holding the plastic outlet to the housing. I have about a quarter inch still sticking out but I have no idea best approach to removing it. On a car I'd break out the MIG welder and weld a nut on the end, but sparks in a fiberglass boat scares the crap out of me. Ideas?

And I've been doing the soak and vice grip wiggle for the past few hours, no luck. Gotta get heat on the buried threads...

Ayuh,.... Weldin' inside the boat just takes more precautions,.... Think lotsa wet rags/ blankets/ tarps,.....

Burn in good, a nut onto it,...
Quench it while still Hot, re-oil, pray, 'n give it a twist,.......

The thermal shock of quenchin' many times breaks the corrosion free,...
