broken hose off carb

i have a clear hose that is off the carb and connects to the fuel pump. im not sure what this hose is for because while the engine was running i didnt see anything flowing through it after i saw it was broken..

its a overflow for your fuel pump if it ever blows the diaphragm,instead of dumping raw fuel into the bilge it dumps in carb

I would think you'd wanna be able to see it so yep any clear hose would work...

Ayuh,... IF there's ever fuel in that hose, the fuel pump is Junk, 'n needs replacin'...

I think the hose is made of Tygon, not vinyl...

Well my only concern would be that the hose would melt , so ill either run it in a place where heat won't be an issue or find a hose that will resist the heat

Ayuh,... The problem is the Gasoline, not heat...

Maybe a small engine shop might have clearish Gas Line in that diameter, Donno...

I'm sure Merc sells it, Maybe iboats megamall too...

Any clear vinyl tubing will work. It's never supposed to have fuel in it anyway. If it does get gas in it because of a bad fuel pump, it will not dissolve and go away. I had a piece of clear 1/4" vinyl on my fuel pump for emptying tanks and it lasted for years. Got a bit stiff, but it never leaked.
Just look at it each time you use the boat, when going through your check list of checking oil and belts etc. If you see fuel, cancel your trip until the pump is changed.

well ill look into getting something from the autoparts store today. all i know is that the current line is made of poly urethane. so ill see what is just more cost efficient and check it before each ride
