broken steering cable

Hi,

This is the steering cable off a 96 hyrdrasport 1900. I was wondering if this could be somehow welded or fixed without me replacing the whole cable. the steering seems to work very well unattached, but obviously cannot latch on to the motors steering arm

Also, if a new cable is needed, how would I go about finding the correct one?

Any insight would be appreciated

also, motor is a 96 johnson 150 if that helps

buy a new cable.

pull the old cable, the part number is hot-stamped on the jacket of the cable every foot.

I just took a look at the cable. I did not see the part number anywhere on the jacket. Is there any other way to check?

measure your cable

buy replacement.
