Broken washing machine - need advice

Hey Guys-

My piece o' crap Maytag Neptune washing machine stopped working. I think it's either the clutch or transmission. I'm hoping you can help me figure it out.

The motor spins just fine. The clutch where the belt attaches to won't spin, so the belt just squeaks. The tub inside the washer won't spin either.

So, how do I figure out if it's the clutch or transmission?

Thanks!

Did the tub/aggitator eat a sock or two and jam it up?

I took one of the agitators off and didn't see anything. I'll take the other off & check. This washer was $1000 bucks and we've never been happy with it.
