My truck is a '96 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer

It has one of those lund sun visors on it, and the lights wouldn't always work. The sockets where old and corroded, so I put a new night kit in, new sockets and wires. I get the new sockets and wires in, and connect the new wires to the old ones that come threw my roof. All the lights on the visor worked. I then mount bolt the visor back down to the roof, cut off the excess wire that I had, and splice them together again. Well, this time the visor lights aren't working, the connection is good, but they won't work, along with the visor lights not working, neather are any of my dash lights, tail lights or parking lights on the front.

I checked the fuses and they are all good, WTF should I do now?

Kinda stumped, and can't drive at night

:(

I would have to say it is a fuse though. How did you check them? Did you do a continuity check or just look at them?

Ryan,
Have you tried unbolting the sun visor lights?
If so, did your lights work then?
If not, I would say it is a fuse and the visor light wiring was hooked directly to the ground somehow, which would burn out the fuse.
If they work with the visor lights disconnected, then there is a wiring issue with the visor lights.

Keep us informed on what you have tried and what made your lights work.
Good Luck,

AK Chappy

It was a fuse, I had pulled and checked it last night, but it was one of those small 15wat ones, and the metal wire thing was disconnected, but you had to really LOOK at it to see, after I slept on it and went outside this morning I had her shineing in just a few mins

:)

Re: Bronco Electrical prolbems

Sometimes it's best to walk away for a while. I thought I burned up the BCM in my Jeep this summer after making a boneheaded short adding accessory lights (overconfidence). A third of the vehicle's electronics quit working. I THOUGHT I checked all the fuses but after getting all upset and panicked I just let it be for a couple of hours and came back later to discover a fuse had blown under the hood, I must have looked right at it a dozen times before and it never registered. It was totally obvious too, what a relief! :)
