Hello,

I have a (new to me) 1999 Glacier bay with twin 1999 Yamahas OX66s. Today I ran the boat for the first time for over 1 hour. Both engines were running fine at low and WOT. No alarms and both pee streams were fine (not hot and strong). However, after I docked the boat (at idle RPM/around 800 RPM), I noticed bubbles coming out of my port engine lower unit (near the water intake) and a little out of the prop. I replaced the impellers last month. Is this a big problem or can I wait until the end of the sea on to fix it? I am at a marina in Brooklyn, NY and the marina does not have a crane. The closet marina with a crane/travel lift to take the boat out is 45 mins away and its super busy.

Thanks,
Luis

coming out the water intake means the exhaust is getting into the water side which is not good.
maybe the dampener and the guide next to the water pump needs replacing

99YAM40,
I am not sure that the bubbles come out the water intake. I think they are coming out of the prop and from the area where the lower unit connects to midsection. I will post a quick video I took (buts its hard to see).
I will go back to the marina tomorrow to make a better video.

Please let me know what is the risk (since I don't have the capability to take the boat our of the water in Brooklyn).

Thanks!!

My OX does the same thing, always has. Runs fine, no issues

Scoflaw,
A couple of guys at the marina with similar engines OX 66 200s told me the same today. That some Yamahas OXs 66 s do that and some don’t. They said that it’s common with these engines and should not really affect performance.
Thanks,
Lui
