Finally got my 35 horse Evenrude running good after a carb rebuild at a funky local shop. However, from about 1/4 throttle up to WOT, it "bucks", meaning it cuts out for a fraction of a second, about every 2 - 3 seconds. Once it starts, RPM doesn't seem to affect how much it cuts out. The cut-out is so quick I can't even tell if is the engine or some other part of the outboard. But the loss of thrust is complete during the time it cuts out. All electrical connections are clean and tight, and fuel is clean and flowing fine. Funky local shop did not treat me right on the rebuild, and is no help.

Any suggestions are much appreciated...

Could be a couple of things but the first thing that comes to mind is bit of water in the fuel. Do you have an in line water seperator?

thanx for reply...

I don't have a seperator, but switched the fuel line to the other outboard next to the 'rude, and no problems there...

Nope, it is like the thrust cuts out completely for a split second. Happens frequently starting at about 1/8 throttle, frequency does not increase from that point all the way to WOT. Doesn't seem like the engine is quitting...
