Build a floor for my 12' V-Hull

I want to build a floor in the Sea King but want to keep it low on the floor. I am not a carpenter.... But can build basic stuff. How do I figure out the "pattern" for the floor, i.e. to follow the curve and slope of the boat and keep it level? Thanks!!

I would love to have a floor as well, however, weight is a factor so I will have to pass on this.
I too have a 1972 12' seaking, great little boat, light. Mine is rated for 550lbs max.
I'm 6'2", 250lbs, outboard(7.5) 50 lbs, tank with fuel 50lbs. add fishing gear gear, anchor, oars and I have about 150lbs to play with.
That pretty much leaves any of my friends fishing from shore.
I have run this boat 60lbs over the rating and it really changes the handling, it plows alot of water, its slow and not efficient, slows to half speed in tight turns and will actually allow the wake to hit the corner of the stern. It would be very easy to take on water.

So please consider the heft of what ever you are using the boat for.

Hey 54 Fleet - Thanks for the info. I will be running a trolling motor and/or a 1948 Scott-Atwater 3.6. No external gas tank. I have access to 1/2" pine boards (free!!) that are light weight.

I'm 6', 163 lbs. I have some "room" for extras but definitely don't want to push the limits. I might just use sections of floor between the seats to provide a flat area.

I cut up a couple of anti fatigue foam rubber floor mats.
I cut to shape and used spray adhesive to attatch. I used this in the bow V to cushion the the bow anchor. The kids are little rough when bringing the anchor in LOL.
I also used this to cushion where my tank sits so it doesnt rub the floor.

I am thinking you will want some plywood and make some stringers to get a flat floor.
Although your pine is light and cheap, it will rot fast and absorb water easily.
