Has anyone ever seen any plans or tried building trim tabs out of wood, like in the old days?

Thanks for any help

Re: Build Trim Tabs

That must have been way before my time. I just installed "smart tabs" smart tabs web page and they are great. You could put a teak wood top on them so they look like wood.

Tabs out of wood? That sounds funny. I'd recommend stainless.

I've thought about the Smart Tabs, and like the idea. Is there a way to lock them in the upright position, in case the need arises?

Thanks for the input.

JoeyKT

It is covered in the instructions. This is used on Tenders that are pulled up on the beach. On larger boats it would be unusual to pull the boat that far up, and the tabs rest position is onlly 2 3/4" down at the rear edge from the mounting point. V bottom would be below this.

However; they can be rigged so that they are held up in the horizontal position on any boat.
