I want to build a small pulpit to mount a remote spotlight forward of the bow. In the spotlight's current position the light reflects off the forward handrail obscuring the view just in front of the bow. On my river it is imperative to have good spotlights at night. It is not uncommon to see everything from a Styrofoam cup to 10 x 10 dock floating down river. (no joke, 10 x 10, local marina still has it, no owner found) So I am looking for some ideas on how to build it.
I would consider building one large enough to accommodate a nice danforth anchor if i can find a design that fits the boat. I want it too be small enough so that the handrail does not have to be modified so that may be asking too much. I thought possibly a piece of 3/4 marine ply cut to shape and thru-bolted the the deck, then faired and painted to match would be fine...maybe. The deck is marine ply and the hull is fiberglass. Any ideas? pic below:
