Building Consoles

I have a 17' Aluminum fishing boat with a side console. I just purchased a Taylor full windshield with a walk through. I am planning on building a second console and modifying my current one to mount this windshield.

I am asking if anyone has any plans or ideas they could throw my way in order to get me started.Thanks for your help!!

last summer when my son and i needed to build a console we went to a boat dealer with a tape measure, note pad and a digital camera. we found boats that were similar to what we wanted and measured, made notes and took photos (short memories). we told the salesman what we were doing and they just said go to it. then we came home and mocked up a cardboard console until we had the dimensions right. and then copied it. not very scientific but it worked. i'm sure someone with the right measurements and a CAD program could have done it in 1/10th the time.
