Hey everyone, I've got an 80's lund s16 aluminum. Its a 15" transom, but I just got a long shaft 35hp. What my plan is to bolt three 2" X 2" aluminum tubes on top of each other and then onto the top of the transom. Using 4 threaded rods, I feel this will hold pretty good. The tubes are around about 30" Long. I'm just wondering if anyone has an idea how big to go for the rods. Would 5/8 be overkill? Thanks for ths help, I'll post some pictures of the project.
