I have treated 2x4's on my trailer and they are painted. they have been on there for years. still looks strait and in great shape. I fish only freshwater I dont know what saltwater would do to the wood?

I put 4, 12' PT 4x4's on our tandem trailer then covered with I/O rug and they held out 3500 lb sailboat well.

My bottom bunks are 4x4 ... I believe to be origonal to the trailer (20 years) still in great shape.

I added bunks to the back to help guide it on and keep it centered when pulling out of the water.. I made them out of treated 2x6
heres a picture just off the ramp of the side bunks I made at the back...

Has anyone ever used the "plastic lumber" to replace a side bunk?

I like cypress but it's hard to come by sometimes. Would definitely use PT as next choice.
