I am trying to fit a re-purposed small trailer to carry a 12' jon boat. i need to mount bunks on the trailer but the cross members are just 1 1/2" angle iron. all the common mounting hardware for bunks appear to be for square or rectangular tubing based on the fact they all use u bolts. any simple non conventional ideas to get me started? only thing i can come up with is drilling in thru the angle iron and i'm not real keen on that idea really. thanks in advance

If welding is out of the pic,

Maybe find some square tubing of similar size, then cut a piece a bit larger then needed to clamp U bolts. This way you could use traditional hardware.

Good idea. I'll check lowes. Welding is an option, i just wanted to be able to make it so it could be used/adjusted for a different boat possibly.
