Purchased 5' bunk guides to help set the boat dead on where it needs to be.

Problem is that they are too wide. When slid all the way in there is still a 3 inch gap between the guide and side of the boat. Supplier won't take them back because they were already returned by another customer.

Has anyone dealt with this....or have a somewhat simple solution?

Re: @$^% bunk guides

Same bunks I put on my boat trailer over the weekend. Same problem too for that matter. I took and cut 4 - 8 inch long pieces of pressure treated 2X4 and used them as spacers between the Bracket and the bunk. I also picked up some 3 inch lag screws from the hardware store. So I could screw all the way thru the 2X4 spacer and into the bunk. This left me about an inch of clearance between the bunk and the boat. I have not had a chance to try it yet but I think that it will work OK. After I have tried it, I may go back and change from a 2X4 spacer to a 4X4 spacer to get it a little closer. There is plenty of room for adjustment out. So adjusting it to get just the right fit should not be a problem. Used the 2X4 because I had some scraps laying around in the shop.:D Hope this helps

Man am I feeling kind of stupid! My friend has been asking me how to fix that on his trailer and I never even thought to pad it in with 2x's.

I'm all thinking cutting and welding and bending and I don't know what.

I am lmao that's toooo funny:D
