Didn't want to hi-jack the other thread but brought this question to mind.

For the owners of a boat that has an offshore bracket or gil bracket which the motor sets back about 2'-3' back of the transom, how much bunk board is under the transom? I ran across a pic that shows the bunk boat sticking out about 2' pass the transom but it seems that its not neccessary to have that much boards sticking out (?) . However, I do believe that a transom saver would help support the motor so that no damage the transom.

I have never seen a trailer any longer than normal used on a bracketed boat. Bunks end at transom.

Any bunk length past the transom isn't doing a thing.
