Burned Up?

1976 Black Max 175. Stupidly, I left the ignition switch on for several weeks until the battery ran down. Will this likely fry the ignition switch boxes? Are there any other electrical items this would likely ruin? I am charging the battery today and will try to start it this evening. Anybody else ever have this problem?

Thanks,

Keith

Re: Burned Up?

Naw. Back in the fifties, when full ignition current of several amps went through distributor points, you could burn up the points by leaving the switch on. Not so with electronics of any kind, including mercury switchboxes.

hope it helps

Re: Burned Up?

Thanks for the quick response. I wasn't sure how sensitive the Mercury boxes are.
