Yes you can but i would not add it all at once....... maybe 1-2 gallons per week. It will probably smoke a bit but it will burn fine..... many of us have smokey lawn mowers because of pre-mix. DO NOT run it in a chain saw!!

Make sure and add it to a tank that is over 3/4 full and you should no problems, we have had to use mixed fuel to get home at times, no lasting effects, normally when we have done it the next tank of gas we run cleaner with that tank, but no problems at all.

If your Toyota is fuel injected then I would not recommend burning gas with oil in it, too easy to gum up sensors. If it has a carb then go for it.

Chainsaws are air-cooled and use a different type of 2-stroke oil than water-cooled outboards.

I'm with Bob on this one. Done it a lot ourselves. Our lawn mower has run on 2 stroke for years now.

Really.??

I'll have to explain that to my saws, blowers and trimmers!! :)

You CAN use outboard oil in a chainsaw but not the other way around....however I do not know of any chainsaws that use 50:1 ratio so you may have to adjust the mix/ratio

I was thinking the same thing. The chainsaw at the cabin is going to be really surprised when I tell it ;)

50:1 is the standard mix for modern Stihl and Husky saws

Those chain saws run a lot hotter than a water cooled outboard. A few years ago I ran out of saw mix and added some boat gas to finish limbing out a felled tree. The next day I forgot what was in the saw and while flush cutting a 24" stump it blew on me. $105 later and several hours work to replace the jug and piston taught me a lesson. About a week later I was at my local saw shop picking up supplies and the Husky rep was there and I still had the old parts in the truck. He confirmed that he sees that much cylinder scoring from TWC and confirmed my mistake.

Yes, TCW3 outboard oil is a bit different in composition than air cooled 2 stroke oil, and the reason it is usually cheaper than air cooled 2 stroke oil. The hangup is where some TCW3 lists 2 stroke mowers and trimmers as an acceptable application. I think the heat fries the TCW but it's never a problem in the water cooled engine.

I did not know that, my old Stihl is over 30 years old! If it ever wears out I'll move up to the new ratio. I have some fairly new "pull-ons" and I think they are 32:1

If not 50:1, what do they commonly use? I have a McCullough that I run on 100:1 Amsoil 2 stroke oil. Done it for 15 years. In fact, it still has the original spark plug in it. It has cut up numerous trees around my 2/3 acre estate.

I've run the 100:1 in my Echo string edger (bought in 1988) in my hand held blower (bought in 1988) and my new Stihl 4 cycle/2 stroke backpack blower (bought that 2.5 years ago)

These days I also always seek out non-ethanol gas to run in all these implements..

I dunno. I guess I am just and old fart with old stuff....my saws use a 32:1. Maybe that is why they are still running!

I always burn any gas left over the winter in my boat tank in my lawn mower. In fact it makes it run extra smooth .
