Burnt grease seeping from lower unit n- 1976 25 hp evinrude

These are two weep holes that seeped this burnt smelling oil after I ran outboard in a tank. I checked lower unit gear oil and it is like new (I put it in yesterday) so this is coming from where?????? I just installed a new impeller.

It looks like unburned oil and while its ugly is not a problem you wouldn't probably see it in the lake.

Yup, normal. That's what those holes are for - to drain exhaust residue and water from the housing. Be glad those holes are not plugged up.
