Hello everyone. Another question related to buying a used boat and not getting the owners manual (which I am looking for out there in NET land).

Just in front of the throttle, is a small rubber covered button. Don't know how else to describe it. It seems that you can push this button in, but it doesn't stay in or make any sound. It looks to be in the same location as the safety mechanism on my buddy's bass boat, where he clips a lanyard to his jacket and then plugs into this port to start/run his motor. I guess if he were to go overboard/away fromt he console, the plug would pull out and shut down the motor.

Is this what this thing is, except that they've covered it up, and disabled this safety feature? I am trouble shooting a possible neutral switch issue and have the access panel off trying to diagnose a starting problem.
Thanks.
Rich.

Old Question, but what the heck...

I believe you are talking about the trailer trim button

Hold the button in while trimming up the out drive will come up a lot higher for trailering
