buy used outboard from tourist lodge?

hi, a few years ago i was on a website for some fishing lodge in ontario that sold all its outboards when only a year or two old and replaced with new. the motors still had warrenty on them. i can't remember or find the place now. anybody ever heard of such places?

Most rental places abuse them for a few years and dump them.

I personally know how I treat rentals... I wouldnt buy one

Not too many years ago, iBoats sold lots of these motors.
I believe the resorts would trade them in on new ones, then iBoats sold them as used report motors.

Not too much to go wrong on a small portable, yeah they were idled a lot, and ran WOT a lot, and probably not broken in properly, but they were cheap compared to new ones.

I don't think I would consider a larger motor though.

At one time there was a leasing program for camps.------They only paid during the busy season.----Factory took them back after 2 seasons..------Repared as needed to cosmetically improve them.------Tested and shipped to dealers in the fall.---So these motors may well be run more in 1 week than some owners put on in a year.

i checked out smalloutboards.com, interesting, but they didn't have any etec's which is what i would be interested in. thanks for the suggestion though. the place i was looking at before was the resort selling them directly if my memory is right...

Check out Wawa Ontario Canada outfitters.Bucks Marina comes to mind.Theres others around there also.There are lots of used outboards running around here from those places and most are still happily putting along.There are many lodges ,lookup online and even call and inquire .
