I have owned lots of boats. But never owned a super fast 80mph boat before. Looking at a 18 ft. Action Marine(around 1985) with a 200hp Merc.
Anything I should check out other than comp. test and lower unit oil?
Any advice for this type of boat would be nice.

um... floor, transom, previous repairs, any work done on motor, etc.

I hear those are fun. Don't try to go too fast too soon.

Sorrydog speaks with straight tongue. Log lots of seat time and don' do anything stupid like not buy and wear a good 100mph life jacket, and the good ones don' come from Walmart.

c/6
Hooty

And don't forget the kill-switch lanyard! Use it! Last thing I remember seeing as I bounced across the water on my back after getting tossed at 65mph was my lanyard making a (what appeared to me to be) slow arc across the sky. When I settled into the water, the boat was sitting quietly about 20 feet away, awaiting my return. It CAN happen!!
- Scott
