I am looking at buying the above boat and would like to know if this is a good deal based on the info at hand, here is the website on craigslist:

Also, what is a push button captain call exhaust?

In the grande scheme of boating, where does Larson stand? Like Tahoe and Bayliner are considered a less quality boat while a Four Winns is considered a better quality boat. Thanks for your help in advance.

It is a nice looking boat. Captain's call is also called Silent choice. I am sure you have heard the very loud exhaust boats on the water. This gives you a choice for your exhaust to come out the prop, or out of exhaust just above, or on the water line, which will make it much louder. It is a very nice option, if you like the rumble of thru hull exhaust, and can still make it quiet with the push of a button, by switching it to thru prop exhaust.

I purchased my 1997 earlier this summer, and I have about $7000 into mine, but mine is smaller, and older. I think this price is decent.

I think Larson is a middle of the road quality boat. I have seen nicer, and have seen cheaper. I think they are a very good boat company

I highly suggest taking it out for a good test drive. Listen for problems, vibrations, listen to the engine, etc. Check it out good. I didn't check mine out good enough.

What kind of upholstery work does it need? That can get pricey, if you need to have someone do it for you.

Good luck with it, and hope it is a great boat for you.

There is a 1996 Larson 23 footer on BoatTrader for $13,500 so the one you found in Little Rock sounds like a great buy. Might be worth having a mechanic look at the engine if you aren't sure about the owner. A couple of hundred could help avoid any big issues down the road.

One comment I heard from a former Marine Mechanic was that he had problems getting parts on Volvo-Penta outdrives. But, he mainly worked on older boats so that may not be the case on newer boats.
