Buying a Doral Bow Rider

I'm thining about purchasing a 2006 Doral 265 Bow Rider with low hours from a friend. It seems to be a great and beautiful boat but I'm not too familiar with this manufacturer. If anybody has any opinions on this boat please share, it would be greatly appreciated!

Doral is generally a well regarded boat . . . however, they recently went out of business. So, there have been a few threads about folks looking for replacement parts, etc.

The condition of the boat will be more significant than the brand.

The quality and construction of Doral is up there with the best of them. As they headed into bankruptcy in (I think) 2009 or 10 the quality dropped from what I hear. They were bought out and entered bankruptcy for a second time in 2012. The only issue with parts are ones that Doral made themselves. Regular items (such as electrical and water) are just purchased items and can be bought at the places that manufactured them or yheir distributors.

A 2006 should be a good boat. Condition is important, though, as a boat is a hole in the water you pour money into. How much depends on how much care the previous owner took.

Be Very careful with the last few years of doral bowriders. They were in bankruptcy protection in and around 2008 and we had a 2008 and it was a terrible boat. They definately cut corners to push boats out while trying to stay afloat (no pun intended).

I'd go with a boat that has a manufacturer that is still in business.

Thanks guys! I'm looking at a 2006 with under 100 hrs, pretty amazing condition and before their latter years. I'm thinking it won't matter too much that Doral is no longer around. Most parts usually come from 3rd parties anyway. I appreciate the input.
