My boat is rigged for a mercury 150. But I'm buying a 115 johnson what's my next step I need to take I'm lost. I'm new to the boating world

Yes you will have to change the controls out so that the Johnson engine will work with Johnson controls. The controls should come with the engine. JMHO!
