Buying a new winch with a strap. But dont see one rated for 3000lbs or more...

Looking on iboats for a new winch and dont see ones for a 3000lb boat or more. Does the winch have to be made for the weight of the boat or less???? Pretty sure my boats 3000lb its a 19' v6 open bow i/o. Kinda lost here any ideas.

Just bought a HD strap myself from Overton's (sorry iBoats). I think it was rated at 7K lbs... Good luck.

Or, are you referring to a new winch rated at 3K+ lbs?

yes, the winch and strap i think it says rated for 3klbs my boats alittle more then that.

you don't need to dead lift your boat, just get it up the bunks. 3k should be fine.

Ok should be or will be? Should the limit usally be lighter then the boat? I just thought my boat weights 3k thought my winch would need to be more

your old winch should be stamped with the rating. i'd imagine it's somewhere around 1200 lbs. you won't be lifting the entire boat, just pulling it.
