Hey y'all I've got some questions about this boat. If y'all could help I would much appreciate it.

The boat is a 1984 Glastron either SX 180 or 190. It has the 3.8L with OMC drive. Guy says its a Robert Hammon edition

My questions are is that a good year model of Glastron? My dad claims in the mid 80's that Glastron was having issue with floors rotting. I have no idea with this since I was born in 87. Also I'm having issues finding any info on the 3.8L and if that really was offered in that year model, so any advice on what to check for with that particular motor and drive would be great. Finally, what other areas should I inspect with a boat this age? I think I can get it for around $2500 and it looks amazing and the seats have all been redone. I'm stepping up from an aluminum flat bottom with a 15hp tiller with no creature comforts so I don't know much about inboard/outboards. Oh an did this model have power steering?

Thanks,
DC

It's a boat that most here will recomend that you run from. Any boat of that vintage has a chance/ probability of being rotted, also it's an obsolete stringer drive powered by an obsolete engine. The 3.8 is an odd fire V6 that has been discountinued by GM for years and there is not many parts available
