buying a used boat with a 2004 Yamaha F225, What should I look for?

Engine has 903 hours total on it. It is pushing a Sea Chaser 2400 CC. What should I look for on this engine?

I would have it checked by a mechanic before purchase to ensure all is well and look for all service records as well on it.

Anything else to look for? This would be my first 4 stroke so I dont want to make a mistake. Thanks for ALL suggestions and comments.

2004 Yamaha f 225 had exhaust corrosion problems . Do a search and read all about it. DEFINITELY have it checked for that by a Yamaha certified tech. Good luck.

+1 on the above advise. Have it checked out--$100 investment.

A new replacement engine might run $16K.
