If you were looking to buy a used boat in the $3,000.00 range, would like it to have a working sonar on it so you could go fishing on the way home from picking it up or would you rather install the sonar of your choice on it?

Re: Buying A Used Boat

I have never bought a used boat fitted out to my preferences, Greg.

I either replace the stuff the previous owner had on it or select and install gear of my choice.

You would be hard pressed to find a boat with exactly what you want. But, if you did, I wouldn't take it fishing until it has had a good go over in the driveway. The only thing I would consider taking out, when buying, would be a jon boat, that I had brought one of my other motors, I had for a while. Aside from that, it waits.

the amenities on a boat for 3k would be last on my list of things that i liked or disliked about a boat. the less amenties the better too, short of oem stuff. i'd look more at floors, transoms, power packages. less stuff screwed to the transom, the better...... like the other guys say. yer gonna want to put what you want on it anyways for the amenities.......
