Bad phone day...

73 srv 220 cuddy 188 hp mercruiser has been diagnosed with terminal $ 2,000 worth of outdrive problems (coupler, realign eng. gimbal, lower shift cable, bellows, prop, etc) by 2 diff shops. Where do dead boats go ? The engine still runs strong, but Im not pumping 2g into this ol war horse, so Im wondering about the practicality of selling it to someone for parts... Are there online sites to do this besides ebay ?...

That's a drag. Put an ad for parts in your local paper and put a sign up at the boat ramp. Not much else you can do... unless you have a dealer nearby that'll take it in trade for a few bucks off your new boat

I'd try Ebay, you might be surprised what you can get for the "parts".
