Hey again, I've got my 1980 v225 (5976264). Now I want to do a compression/spark test, but I don't have the original key. Is there a way to bypass the key switch to make this happen? Or.do I need to just buy a new key switch? Thanks!

Jump right to the starter motor with jumper cables. Just make sure there's no puddled fuel in the belly pan or elsewhere as you'll likely get some arcing...

Or use a clip lead to jumper from the large red battery cable to the small terminal with the yellow/red wire. That will spin the starter for the compression test. Disconnect the black/yellow wires at the switch boxes (there are two of them), and then jumper the starter to do the spark test. Remove all spark plugs for safety.
