bypassing alarm

I know what the problem is -faulty sensor reservoir oil tank- I am waiting on part to come in next couple of days to replace defective. I want to run boat this weekend and dont want beep-alarm ,again engine runs fine and oil level and flow is ok .I have mercs with smartcraft system,I read or heard somewhere this can be shut off or bypass...any input ???

What year and size of motor?

Try unplugging the wires coming from the in-tank oil level sensor and see if that silences your alarm. At least that does it on the older systems, not sure if your Smartcraft would be similar!
