I have purchased on old Bombard C6, from what I can tell is pretty close to the old MarkV. However Avon has told me there is no longer a manual available for the C6 so I am trying to find out information from those who have owned one or one similar to it. Its a late 80's so I'm guessing the material is PVC.
My 1st question is because the keel not inflatable how will this perform in big water. Was it designed to cut through ? With no air chamber there will i experience a lot of flexing of the hull. There seems to be a 2x4 runner underneath the floorboards & but it will be awhlile before I can pull it apart.
(Have to take off motor & unhook cables, center council & etc first, but can't do that until I take the motor in for tuneup.)
Next question, it has aluminum floor boards, then the front piece is wood, however it does not go all the way to the bow tip. There is about a 4- 6 inch gap from the end of the wood directly inside the boat below the bow where water & other debris can get below the floorboard. Is this normal or should I try & fabricate another board & hinge it on to close this gap?
I am just trying to decide if this boat is what is what I really want before I start pouring $ into it as I plan on having all the patches redone & taking it in & having the bottom seam resealed etc... , new trailer, & possbily coating the tubes.
Thanks in advance

Re: C6 / markv questions

Rather spend money on a new one, to get a old one fixed up cost alot of money, time, effort and frustration and at the end of the day you will think why you just didn't buy a brand new one ......
