cabin door open/closed under shrinkwrap???

Hey All,

Looking to see if I should keep my sliding cabin door open or closed over the winter while under shrink wrap. I have 2 "no damp" dehumidifying crystal system cups on the outside deck/cockpit, and 3 inside. I would think keep the door open to gain full air circulation, but I am concerned if the shrink wrap gets a tear from ice or something else, that heavy water/moisture will seep into cabin.

Suggestions?

I don't shrink-wrap but do store my V-20 outside under a fitted cover. ALL hatches, doors, compartments and cubbies are open for air circulation. Cushions are stood on edge leaning against bulkheads. PFD's are off-boat as well as all portable fabrics.
Additionally, the drain plug is OUT, the bow jacked and blocked far above the tongue jack's reach to ensure any water from anywhere drains out. (the drive is down and in a depression). additionally, rain and snow shed easier when bow high.
So far, after several exceptionally wet off-seasons, no mold or mildew on anything.

I had/have the same concern (thought I'm under a tarp and frame structure) regarding open or closed. I have ready access to check on the interior (for instance we had a hail storm on Friday afternoon) to verify integrity of the tarping.

If you have access to the vessel as well as a zip open 'door' added to the shrinkwrap, then you could just check it periodically (I check mine every few days and especially after any high wind events or other precip)....remember that under the shrink wrap, unless you have venting installed, there is little to no airflow and even with a vent, the air may stagnate once snow hits/sticks thus effectively blocking off the vents.

i think that's a legitimate concern. i've gone out to my local lake where they store boats at over the winter. most shrink wrapped. i usually see at least one that the shrink wrap is ripped and flapping in the breeze...
myself, i just use a atermarket semi fit cover. my boat is empty and open inside. bow high, plug out..

Hatches open, moth balls scattered around, bag of charcoal cut open and fully exposed on the deck. Then covered.
