I am looking for suggestions to correct the cabin liner on my walkaround. The mastic or glue has bled through the white fabric ( carpet like )and has stained it to a rust color in several spots. In lieu of replacing the liner is there another fix since cleaning does not work. Thanks  for your help.

You need to do a test spot.Take a white towel or rag and put your finger in it and dip it in a 50/50 solution of bleach and water.Just your fingertip, thats all.Now hold it on the spot for a minute without letting go of the pressure. That will usually get rid of the stain. If it does,do the entire stain the same way and then wipe with fresh water saturated rag when done.Post your results.Charlie

Sorry to report that the 50/50 solution did not work. I also tried Oxyclean. Again any suggestions on how to clean remove or cover the dried mastic would be appreaciated. Thanks

The next step is to try a product for rust stain removal. The marine stores sell a variety of products most of which work on contact. If you are shopping in a supermarket or Walmart, you can get something like lime away or Rust out in the housewares dept.If that does not work, head to the auto parts store and purchase Vinyl spray paint.I had some white vinyl on the outside of a boat I once owned and it developed pink spots.I prepared the surface properly and sprayed it and it lasted for years.Charlie
