last night, when I pulled up the trolling motor I saw some sparking in the cable from the depth finder next to the trolling motor.... its a Garmin depth finder. Must have been scraped on something and peeled back the black outer coating...about a 1/4 inch, I turned it off since it just keep throwing a small electrical arc, figured it would blow a fuse to the unit any minute.... Anyway this morning I got to look at the cable, peeled back about an inch of black protectant, but I can't find an actual break in any of the wires.. now what I have is 1 inch of 4 little wires exposed about 8 inches from the transducer...blue, white, black, yellow. There was a tin foil wrapped around two sets of wires. any suggestion beside buying a new one? If I tape it up seal it is that the trick?
