Cables/Controls for Engine Swap

I currently have a 1989 150 HP Evinrude outboard, I'm going to be swapping the engine out to a 1987 175 HP Johnson outboard. Should the wireing harness be the same?

The boat I have is a 1989 Larson Center Console, how can I find out the weight capacity of the transoms? I don't see any tag on the boat stating the max size engine.

the harness should be fine...

im not sure what your boat size is but usually for a 17-19' boat 150Hp max... between 20-24' 250HP max....

controls plug and play, weight you should be fine.
