Caddo Lake, Texas

I'm taking my family to Caddo Lake State Park in East Texas in March. We are staying at the State park and plan to boat up the Big Cypress Bayou to Jefferson, TX about 15 miles away. Has anyone done this? I understand that it's possible but I was hoping to talk to someone who has actually done it.

If you have made this trip or one like it, please let me know. I have a few questions.

Never made the trip up the bayou. But it should be fun. Where's the lake level at right now? That might, or might not, be a factor in making your journey.

I have been to Caddo several times. Stayed at the state park once. very nice park and cabins. I didn't care for it due to it's proximity to the lake itself. Just too far of a run down the bayou. So now we stay at Crip's Camp in Uncertain, Tx (You'll also see the Church of Uncertain, the name itself is kinda funny to me).
