the instructions to adjust the cam roller are sketchy in the service manual for a 1960 evinrude fastwin 18hp. For one it says that all the linkage play must be removed and that the roller should be "on The Mark" when the throttle just starts to open. On the centerline? on the leading edge? on the trailing edge?........? I suspect that part of my "carb problem" is related to the adjustment of the cam and roller. Anyone have a working knowledge of this appparatus or does it really matter? Am I just shooting for wot and picking whatever of the three choices gets me closest?
