Re: Can a 13 1/2 foot fit on well on a 16 foot trailer?
Agree, if it's a 14-16 trailer it should be no problem. If it's a 16-18 trailer you might sit a little high and need more water for launching and retrieval. If the trailer is a 16-18 it'll have at least 13" wheels and probably a fender to fender width of about 102". You can adjust the bunks and make your boat fit the trailer. You might consider the added width if you have tight storage space a home. The 102's take up a full single garage space.
The other problem that you might run into is being able to slide the bow stop back far enough so the weight is distributed correctly. Proper tounge weight may not seem like a problem with such a small boat but it can be and if it's not right, the trailer may sway or be overly sensitive to vehicle swerves or wind from passing vehicles.
Did you know that you can buy a brand new trailer for that boat for about 500.00 and be done with it?
