Can a 6hp impeller work on a 9.5 1967?

Hi everyone, I picked up a 1967 evinrude 9.5 and it needs a new impeller. Could I use this 6hp kit on the left in replace of the stock kit on the right?

I think the driveshafts have different diameters.

Driveshaft is different diameter.--The 6 is 0.437" and 9.5 is 0.550" going from memory.------Nothing wrong with the 9.5 impeller / water pump set-up.----Contact ---evinrudeparts.ca-----for factory ( good ) parts.----I have put bad pump housings in a 4 jaw chuck on a lathe to return them to factory new condition !

I would buy parts for the motor your working on. Are the parts not available, is that why your trying to substitute things? Or do you just have the parts your asking about laying around?

Just had a brand new 6hp kit laying around. I purchased the correct oem 9.5 kit.
