can a bent prop cuase a bearing carrier to break?

Ok, first time one this! I have a 2006 Yamaha 75 four stroke tiller that has a broken bearing carrier. I was on a trip to canada,and bent my second prop. I finished the trip with the bent prop now I have a broken bearing carrier.

My question is could this be caused by water freezing in the lower unit, or more likly that the vibration caused this?

It is hard to tell, but both are not good.
