So my question is "Can a fixed HUB Prop slip?"
If so how can i fix it?

I have a [h=1]Mercury Marine Laser II 48-16544A46 Stainless Steel Boat Propeller[/h] and at higher RPM's it felt like the prop was slipping..
Switched out to a different prop and the "slippage" is gone..

I don't know much about props but after some research i figured that y prop has a fixed hub..

Story:

So took my boat out up to the Lake .. 6,752 in elevation.

I normally boat sea level..
Launch my boat and cruised out of the NO wake zone.

Once i was clear I put the hammer down.. I hear the engine rev up but the boat doesn't move and actually slowed down..
I easy off the throttle and feel the prop "bite" again..
Limped it to the beach, swapped out the prop with a lower pitch and had a great day.

I never had a problem with this Prop before.

Need some guidance please.

The Laser II uses mercury Flo-Torq II propeller hub system. While it is not a rubber cushion hub, it is far from "fixed", it will shatter/splinter/disintergrate on impact, but it is replaceable. What condition was the insert in when you removed the prop to try another? Actually what shape was the rest of the prop in?

What was the other prop you tried?

You might be experiencing ventilation, symptoms can be the same. Cavitation could be occurring if there is a damaged blade.

If 101% shure prop has a fixed hub, at elevation OB will perform better at low to medium throttle than at full, at max throttle OB will not respond well and would think prop is not bitting as it should due to power loss. Which HP OB is yours ?

Boating at sea level is one thing, at eleavation it's other story. At elevation you need to go boating with a lower pitch prop to pull most lost wot revs up. At that stated height OB is losing near 30% of its current HP.

My Prop has ZERO damage to it.
I replaced with the OEM prop.. black aluminum prop.
Can the replace the hub and do you know what hub to replace it with?
