Can any body tell me what this electrical componant is?
Motor-1990 Force 120 L drive.
Is this the voltage regulator?

It's a rectifier all right, but the terminal that is labeled "Purple to tach and red?" is wrong. It should be red and only red. The tach lead should be coming off of one of the Green/Yellow wires.

NOTE: Since this is a rectifier, there is no voltage regulation. What ever voltage is being put out by the stator is rectified and feed to the battery and any other electronics on the boat.

Ah, this is why it was burned up when I purchased the boat!
