Im trying to identify my prop. Its on a Evenrude 70 hp (1984) The size is 13 3/8 x 17
It also has the number 384139 and the letter "M"
with a circle around it. It is stainless steel.
Couldnt find the model number on any of the websites. Could the "M" stand for Michigan Wheel?
Any help appreciated.

Hi Boatin
What are you trying to ID? I guess I don't understand. The circle with the M is an OMC mark. The part #384139 is an OMC part# for a propeller. Part#384139 supercedes to part#389948. The retail price of one of these babies 10 years ago was $349.95. You have the size and pitch. What else can we do for you?

Thanks Alcan, You answered my question!!
I didnt know that was the OMC logo.Thought it might be an offbrand bootleg. It has a lot of small places that need to be beat out. I tried to do a search on prop repair but couldnt seem to get the search to go through. the "nicks" are just on the edge. Know where some good reading is?
Thanks again

If they are just small nicks, take a fine flat file and clean it up. Anything more, take it to a prop shop..

Re: can anyone identify this prop?

Thanks Rick. The trouble is , there are no prop shops that I know of in Jackson Mississippi.
If I ship it somewhere , thats thirty bucks just for UPS plus the shop charges. It looks like some of the edges have been scraped by rocks and a few bended parts but no more than 1/4 " from the edges. I wonder how much damage it takes to throw a prop off. I guess I need to find out.
Thanks for the replies. Anyone know any websites on prop repairs?

I wouldn't run your boat with that prop until you get it fixed by a prop shop. You take a chance in tearing up your gearcase. Try Google for a prop shop.
