It looks like an old (80s) Turbo prop to me. I don't know what it would fit, but most Turbos I've seen fit Johnnyrude V-6s. The spline teeth are a lot larger than Merc's. Pointy peaks and valleys as opposed to flatter teeth on Mercs. 13 pitch is hard to believe. 18 would be more likely. Part of the 8 may have worn off with finishing.<br /><br />I have no idea who is selling this, but it's in my neck of the woods. He's selling a lot including antiques (that's what got my interest). Check out the other auctions. He's liquidating a dealer. I just e-mailed him. I have the week off and hope to drop by an see what else he has. I'm actually most interested in some motorcycles he has. He must have a barn full of stuff to get rid of.
